Recently, I read somewhere that coffee drinking will reduce the risk of cancer and my friend is arguing that it causes cancer. What have you read about this? What is the truth?

\nAs recently as December, 2012, the American Cancer Society released the results of a study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology<\/em> that found people who drank more than four cups of caffeinated coffee a day were at about half the risk of dying from oral\/pharyngeal cancer or throat cancer than those who only drank coffee occasionally or never drank coffee. It was based on a study of over 900,000 men and women who were cancer free at the start of the study and consumed a minimum of four cups of coffee daily. Over a course of 26 years, only 868 people died from oral\/pharyngeal cancer. They have only made an association which means more studies will be conducted over time. If you are a coffee lover, this is very encouraging but again, more time and studies need to be done to confirm these results. <\/p>\n
